Unit 2
Pharmacodynamics & Drug Interaction
This Unit II covers pharmacodynamics, receptor types and mechanisms, dose-response, drug interactions, adverse effects, and factors affecting drug action. It also includes drug discovery, clinical trials, and pharmacovigilance.

Unit 3
Drugs acting on peripheral nervous system
Unit 3 covers drugs acting on the peripheral nervous system: ANS structure and function, neurotransmission, and neurotransmitter types. It includes parasympathomimetics, sympathomimetics, neuromuscular blockers, local anesthetics, and drugs for myasthenia gravis and glaucoma.

Unit 4
Pharmacology of Drugs acting on CNS
Unit IV focuses on CNS pharmacology, emphasizing neurohumoral transmission and key neurotransmitters like GABA, glutamate, glycine, serotonin, and dopamine. It includes general and pre-anesthetics, sedatives, hypnotics, centrally acting muscle relaxants, antiepileptics, alcohols, and disulfiram.
Unit 5
Psychotropic Drugs
Unit V covers CNS-acting drugs including psychopharmacological agents like antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, anti-manics, and hallucinogens.
